About the Role

Join the Emergency and Acute Care team in a dynamic hospital environment, providing crisis intervention and short-term support to patients and families. This role requires strong clinical judgement in fast-paced situations and a deep understanding of domestic and family violence, safety planning, and child protection frameworks. You’ll work a rotating roster that includes afterhours, weekend, and on-call shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention and short-term social work support
  • Manage complex presentations related to domestic and family violence
  • Conduct safety planning and coordinate with support services
  • Handle child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting
  • Liaise with internal hospital teams and external agencies
  • Contribute effectively to the Emergency and Acute Care multidisciplinary team

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Previous hospital experience essential
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention
  • Strong knowledge of domestic & family violence and safety planning
  • Experience managing child protection concerns and mandatory reporting
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and on-call shifts
